No, I haven't dropped off the face of the planet. I've just switched hemispheres.

my creative space

Oh my goodness. Today's creative space was a meeting of cute pots and a talented photographer.

Ooh! It's me! Smiling at a pot...! More happy creative folks here.

my creative space

Trying a new technique this week; ink outline first, then messy splashes of colour. Its nice to go outside the lines.

It is difficult to believe now much this project is improving my drawing skills. I used to be so precious with my drawings and I had such little confidence in sketching that I avoided it where possible (how did I manage that as an art student?!) especially in front of other people. This little sketchbook is teaching me lessons…mainly that imperfection is beautiful. More creativity today with Kirsty.

iou

I found a brilliant excuse to make some more pots! John Gillson is doing a glazing workshop at the Gold Coast Potters Assoc. later this month, hurrah!
4 x 400g bowls in around an hour - good going for me, especially as I haven't thrown any pots in well over a month.
The studio (read: spare room) today. I found that having the finished bowls on display near the wheel to be quite motivating...? They make me think 'Yeah, lets make more of those'.
Tracy, I almost owe you $10!

pots

It was a fairly good firing;
Just the odd dry edge and smudge of cobalt glaze. The bugger is practically invisible in it's raw state.
I feel quite sad now that I've said that might be the last firing for the year. Maybe I can squeeze out some more pots?!
