This would have ruined someone's morning!

Herr Klimt

I went to Vienna for Gustav Klimt. I've researched, studied and analysed his work so much over the last 2 years that I had to see his work.
Top 3 museums to see Klimt's work; Belvedere, Leopold & Secession

(Unrelated ~ Whilst the Schmetterling Haus seemed a little short on actual Schmetterlings, it did provide us with a warm and humid sanctuary from the European winter temperatures)

The Secession houses Klimt's Beethoven Frieze. I've heard people speak about having religious experiences upon seeing famous works of art and scoffed, but the Frieze was, well, astonishing.
The Hostile Forces (Narrow Wall)
Sadly I couldn't take photos inside The Secession building and I can only find one tiny image of the frieze in situ on the web. It was incredible to see the different applications of gold, as well as the mother of pearl, pieces of glass, shells and countless other embellishments. Internet and book images just can't do this art work justice!

I spent Christmas 2010 at home with my family in the Isle of Man. Whilst there, I found these little specimens of my early (I was 5 years old maybe?!) work in plasticine!
Snow White I believe
Some kind of flower fairy me thinks...

(The plasticine is so old that it is now rock solid!)

petit atelier

Oh, hello special. Yesterday I paid a visit to Le Petit Atelier de Paris. These lovely people make beautiful hand slip-cast porcelain tableware.

Even their packaging is precious.

Star cup! Destined to live in Australia :)
Amazing gold decals

the finish line

Mes amies, I give you the final pages of my sketchbook project. Unfortunately I ran out of time to scan the last 3 pages before leaving the Isle of Man, so we will have to make do with photographs.
Pages 78 & 79

Did someone ask for evidence that I would send my sketchbook back to the Brooklyn Art Library via Paris...? It feels so good to finish another project! See how it all started here; how I've progressed here; and the lovely lady who shared the love here.
