I assembled my teapots today. It was tedious. I grumbled a lot. Thankfully I had a freshly baked cake break with my friend Wendy, so my sanity is intact.

possibly cuter without a spout and handle...! |
Now to baby them for a week so they dry super slowly and *hopefully* won't crack! Then the other worries will creep in...will the lid let go after the firing, will they handle well, will the spout straighten correctly and pour sufficiently...ah!
It's Mud Colony day again, off you hop!
Great shapes - can't wait to see them decorated!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ellen! :)
DeleteI love the shape! Very sleek! I've only made one teapot in my short clay life and amazingly it poured well...didn't drip and the lid fit perfectly! Talk about beginners luck! I'll bet I can't do it twice and there you are with 4 lovely identical pots! Question for you. Are you using a styrofoam cooler to dry in?
ReplyDeleteThanks Brenda...it's nerve wrecking! Yes, that's a styrofoam box, for broccoli! I use little broccolini boxes too, very useful!
DeleteThey look lovely. It will be exciting to see them afer firings! Fingers crossed they will behave them selves...I am sure they do:)
ReplyDeleteThank you Julia! I'll be having a good chat with them before firing...!
DeleteI am teaching students to make teapots this week, hand built but still, this will be really handy to show them.
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks Elaine! That's so cool!
